Brand new design boutique hotel
Last year Prague metropolis was variegated with a brand new design boutique hotel called MOODs. The design of the hotel was recently awarded and is listed as one of the Top 10 Trendiest Hotels in Europe, in Traveller’s choice 2011.
Hotel MOODs offers a significantly different atmosphere than most other hotels of its kind. The main reason herefore is given due to the conception of hotel interiors, which are based on the usage of organic and natural materials such as wood, bamboo, moss etc., in contrast with rough natural materials such as concrete, glass and new technologies. For the design of the hotel signed responsible two young talented Prague based designers, namely Vladimir Zak and Roman Vrtiska. Within a fame building a remarkable renovation project was created, which comprehends design solutions of a typical furniture pieces, lighting and design accessories like custom made bookmarks, etc. Overall concept was created with a great accent on details and permeation of graphical elements and interiors. Hotel Moods arose in a block of flats in Klimentska street, in the heart of Prague, where a bank was originally situated in the early 90`s.
Hotel MOODs disposes of 52rooms with Hästens beds. You can find there two mezonet apartments, a multifunctional conference room, massages and bar. Space in the reception area is variegated with a moss wall. Around a central chromed column is situated a typical custom made sofa. Domination of the reception desk is a wall created of cut bamboo sticks, which is in underlighted version used as well behind the bar. The space in the front of the bar is decorated with sanded wallpaper pattern. Hotel Moods occures as an organic and at lenght thought unit, where several functional and aesthetical solutions fade into each other. The designers team Zak / Vrtiska cooperate since the time of their common studies at AAAD Prague and is a price winner of many awards, from which we should mention National Award For Student Design 2008 (Roman Vrtiska) or a Czech Grand Design Award in Discovery of the Year category (Vladimir Zak).
