The project consists of the interior renovation of a 100m2 apartment with a big terrace in an old building in the heart of a traditional neighbourhood of Barcelona. The house has a very deep and narrow floor plan and only two facades at the ends, one to the street and the other one to the terrace in the inner courtyard.
Consisting of a standing lamp, a table lamp and two sizes of table, here the trick has been to place the colour on the interior of the pieces with the wood grain forming the skin. Whilst all perform different functions, they are effectively a cleverly thought out reworking of the same four-legged, flat-topped form containing a light source. In a modular way, one is perfectly capable of using one of the tables – with its own attractive contained light source beneath- to house the table lamp to provide light on its horizontal surface.
SOFTlab designed a creative space for product design company Blue Marlin in 2009. The space featured a circle packed wall made of paper tubes, custom tables, custom lighting, and a flexible felt wall system.

This consists of pillows and rugs made partly of old Turkish wool carpets and new fabrics, and although this is no way something unique – this idea comes in many styles and from many providers – but the result is really successful!
