Elegant bronzed metal furniture by LEMA
It is time for the opening of the most important furniture fair – Salone del Mobile 2014. What will present furniture companies and designers? Surprises ahead. But here’s what will show from LEMA leading Italian company. Attractive table Shade – bronzed metal base and a light top by Francesco Rota. Also, elegant bed Orpheo by Ferruccio Laviani.
Hospitality and conviviality, relaxation and warmth: these are the words which best characterize Lema’s style. A brand which has always distinguished itself for an ironic and light approach to design, colors, materials, and above all their combinations, creating furnishings which subtly merge the elegance of shapes with the refinement of their finishes. Woods, glass and metals fabricated in the most diverse manners constitute pieces which communicate refined design and the desire to give life to contemporary interpretations of a lifestyle, the Mediterranean one, that is the essence of made in Italy.
It is a precise choice of tastes which Lema has pursued since its beginnings, having succeeded—the first in its industry—in combining the know-how of craftsmanship with the most advanced industrial technologies. Transforming handwork into highly mechanized processes has allowed the brand to offer a product which is always unique, adaptable and custom-made, continuing to maintain that attention to detail which is obtained only with manual labor.
Indeed, the products which have made the brand a leader in the made-to-measure industry are born from this philosophy: from the Selecta spine support system to the Armadio al Centimetro (Closet by the Centimeter) and the Walk-in Closets, Lema has always integrated the most ancient craftsman techniques with the latest technological inventions, thus guaranteeing made-to-order mass-produced products which rationalize manufacturing, giving life to products which are sophisticated from a construction point of view but with a light—and sometimes ironic—look.
Over the years, Lema has enriched its offering for the night and day areas with single pieces appropriate for creating a Lema total living environment to which the first collection of upholstered pieces has been added last year, which was enriched by new couches as well this year.
At the Salone del Mobile 2014, the brand presents a home in which the natural materials like wood meet more contemporary ones like glass and metal, treated in a manner so as to become style details which are warm and luxurious without losing their linearity of shape and the usual discretion which characterizes Lema’s signature design.
Francesco Rota presents the table Shade, a harmonious combination of the bronzed metal base and the light top. The generous dimensions of this impressive dining room table (350 cm long) makes it the perfect centerpiece for a room: the sculptural pedestal is composed of delicate sheets of treated metal arranged in an asymmetrical cross in a warm bronze finish; the name is derived exactly from the light and shade play of the metal grid. The top, available in diverse finishings and materials completes the look of this important piece.
Metal is still the protagonist in the bed Orpheo by Ferruccio Laviani. A slender and light structure with rounded contours framing the cushions which lay on two wood element acting as headrest. In contrast, the bed frame in Oak wood underscores the minimalism of the headboard and confers to the product the typical warmth of made in Italy domestic furnishings.
Lema was founded in 1970 by the work of the Meroni Family, who still today manages it with a strong sense for tradition that dates back to the early postwar years. The group consists of the home and contract divisions, and the International Office Concept department. Lema was the first Italian company to develop a system of load-bearing shelving system in more finishes and the made-to-measure wardrobe, made according to the exact measurements specified by the client. These two products are the symbols of the care that the company gives to the public and that it inflects in its catalog for the home, in its custom-made creations with the greatest architects and in expedient solutions for the office.
