Architect Hagar Abiri completely refurbished apartment in Berlin for a couple with their daughter and a dog.
The project is located in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin in an “Alt Bau” (old traditional building) and went complete renovation. The apartment had a problematic layout and one very robust wall. Turning an obstacle into a potential, that wall was exposed with all its roughness, decorated only with the signs of time.
The exposed wall caused a dialogue between the old and the new, the past and the present. Originals elements were treated the same – doors, door knobs: Doors were exposed, painted and decorated with vintage art. The original wooden floor was restored. Furniture and dining chairs were carefully collected, dining table and light were purchased in small shops near the apartment. via: archdaily.com
