The WakuWaku Restaurant, designed by ippolito fleitz group, is located in Hamburg’s city center. The long, narrow space stretches back almost 17 meters has a glass roof in the rear half that admits daylight. The space is divided into two main zones: the dinning area and the service area with an order counter, kitchen and take-away area as one unit/box painted in a strong shade of violet, WakuWaku’s corporate color.
Clare Woods’ paintings are derived from her photographs of undergrowth and vegetation, which are taken at night, often in desolate, contested or overlooked locations such as areas of scrub or deep woodland. Painstakingly transcribed using layers of enamel paint on aluminium, the resulting images are often ambiguous and disturbing, claustrophobic in their detail, and psychologically-charged.
Brazilian designer Brunno Jahara has released a collection of homeware made of hammered and crumpled anodized aluminum. Called Batucada, the collection of hand-made vases, pendant lamps and trays come in metallic shades of green, blue, grey, purple, red and golden yellow.
The graphic artist Cristian Zuzunaga designed Digit collection bases on the decomposition of colour through pixels, a technique that has been applied to the design of sofas, cushions, shirts… Now he embodies his special vision in these two rugs made from hand-knotted wool, one in vibrant colours, the other in more gentle tones.
